External circlips are retaining rings which are used to fix translating components onto shafts. They are semi-flexible metal rings whose open end snaps onto the shaft. External circlips are installed into pre cut grooves and are designed to fit tightly around the shaft. These products exert an axial force on the component it holds, which prevents them from disengaging.
