Oilite® Plate AP9619212
Oil impregnated sintered bronze, otherwise known as Oilite® is a porous bronze alloy impregnated with an oil lubricant and used as a bearing. Oilite® is formed using powder metallurgy so that tiny pores are present in the metal. The pores are then vacuum impregnated with an oil to improve the materials bearing ability. Oilite® plates act as self-lubricating thrust surfaces especially in applications where assembly does not lend itself to the use of a flange bearing. Alternatively they can provide a second thrust surface at the non-flanged end of a bearing. Oilite® is widely used in the auto industry, chemical industry, mini electrical parts as well as in home appliances, textile machines, electrical tools and office equipment due to their self lubricating properties, long life span and low maintenance requirements.
