CONTI® SYNCHROCHAIN combines high tear resistance with exceptional tensile strength, making it one of the world's best performers among today's timing belts. The newly developed CTD (Conti Torque Drive) profile, makes extreme applications possible. Its design and materials ensures reliable power transmission for high torques and high dynamic stressing. It permits reverse flexing in multi-pulley drives and is therefore the ideal alternative to chain drives approximately half the strength of the parent material.
The belts are designed for drive applications with extremely high acceleration forces, as well as for the reliable transmission of high torque at low speeds. To deal with the impact loads of abrupt acceleration and deceleration, the belt employs a compound which absorbs even maximum surges and guarantees the maintenance-free functioning of pulsating drives in continuous service.
Ultra-strong Aramid tensile members provide the tear strength and resistance to tooth deformation required for transmission for high torque at low speeds. Embedded in the heavy-duty compound, these tensile members cope with extremely high starting torques, permanently and reliably. In addition, it is especially well suited to high power applications involving extreme dynamic load, at belt speeds of up to 40m/s.
Synchronous Transmission
CONTI® SYNCHROCHAIN high-performance timing belts transmit rotary motions at exact angles and a constant belt speed. The precise tooth match between belt and drive pulley ensures a high degree of synchronicity and reliably prevents belt ratcheting.

Low-noise operation
The optimized sectional match between timing belt and pulley and a belt construction with a multiply treated polyamide fabric, plus a dramatic reduction in the required timing belt width that using CONTI® SYNCHROCHAIN high-performance timing belts afford, all make for considerably less noise, even at high belt speeds.
